Meet the team.

Garry Miller

It started with sheep. I like sheep. I think there’s nothing better than working with my dogs and our flock of sheep. I’m a plumber really and have been self-employed for 30 years, but during that time I’ve always kept sheep and been interested in farming and the countryside. I also love Galloway cattle…. and bee’s….

Hazel Miller

Hello I’m Hazel, the wife and mother of the family.

My main job is running the free range hen unit that consists of 6000 ladies, their happiness and welfare is my main priority. I also help take care of all the other animals on the farm and try and keep the humans fed and watered.

Amy Miller

Hi I’m Amy, the eldest of the children.

I have a biology degree, focusing on cellular and molecular biology. Although I’m not as involved in the farm as my siblings, I help out when needed. I’m very interested in science communication, and using science, new technologies and critical thinking skills to improve current practices and our relationship with the environment.

Tamar Miller

Hello my name is Tamar, I’m the second oldest daughter.

I currently work on a research dairy farm in Dumfries for SRUC but help out at home on weekends. I also have a degree in animal welfare and behaviour, as well as a diploma in agriculture. I have previously worked out in New Zealand on both fruit and dairy farms but have always enjoyed helping out the most on our farm at home. In my spare time I enjoy horse riding and training our sheep dogs.

Maisie Miller

Hello, my name is Maisie.

I am currently working at home on the farm while studying agriculture at Kendal college. I also work part time on a dairy farm. I enjoy competing in dog trails with my dog Pik, I am also a proud member of Penrith young farmers. My main jobs include taking care of the sheep as well as helping in the hen shed. I have always had a passion for farming and take the welfare of all the animals very seriously.

Kyle Miller

Hi I’m Kyle, the youngest member of the family.

I am currently training as plumbing apprentice working alongside my dad. I help out on the farm in my spare time, I especially enjoy fixing things on the farm with dad. My hobbies include mountain biking and fly fishing.

ZAK Edwards

Hi I’m Zak, Kyle’s best friend from school.

I currently work part time on another farm as well as completing a joinery apprenticeship. I’m keen on farming and will do any job big or small. I love doing sheep work and riding my trials bike. I have been here, helping out on the farm since the first lockdown in March 2020, and have been coming back ever since. I’m always keen to learn more.
