We pride ourselves in rearing and looking after all of our animals with a high standard of welfare. We let our livestock mature slowly and feed very minimal concentrate feeds. We do not use any artificial fertiliser or pesticides on our land and we care greatly for the environment and wildlife on our farm.

If you're wondering what “grass-fed” and “slow reared” means, let us give you a bit of information about it. The term grass-fed is used for animals reared outside on pasture and in our case means they have had little to no concentrated feed. The term slow reared means the animals are slowly and naturally reared until maturity.
As farmers who are in charge of many different animals we value the welfare and health of our livestock over everything else which is one of the reasons we produce slow reared meat, which basically means they grow to maturity before being butchered.
We value the preservation and improvement of the environment which is why we use grass-fed systems which cuts down on our use of feed concentrates in turn helping to reduce our carbon footprint as feed concentrates have soya in them. We also practice regular hedge laying, and over the last few years have planted over 15000 trees in woodland areas and hedges on the farm.
